Mauritius wedding – Eric & Ulrica
A wedding in Mauritius is definitely one of our bucket lists of countries that we want to photograph a wedding in. Destination weddings are always something that we love, more so with a destination such as Mauritius. The opportunity to see another side of the world and to experience different culture is priceless.
The wedding ceremony & banquet dinner was held in L’Aventure Du Sucre, Mauritius. L’Aventure Du Sucre is actually a cane sugar estate museum where Le Fangourin restaurant is situated.
Tucked away in the heart of the Beau Plan Estate, Le Fangourin provides an exceptional, indeed imposing backdrop for private functions that is an ideal place for wedding receptions.
Here’s a short story on how the couple met :-
In summary – We met through mutual friends from Australia (Gwenda & Adam).
I met Eric, my very first MAURITIAN guy which we met through mutual friends during a party gathering. Eric had to explain to me where he was from as I’ve never heard of this country before. We went out for some drink on a few occasions and we gotten talking more and more.
Before Eric left KL to return back to Aussie (he was working there), and that’s when we started exchanging numbers. We kept in touch ever since with facetime and skype calls. We would talk for hours! Even during the drive back from work. Even made a point to have Valentines together eating dinner in front of the Computer/ iPad as a “date”.
One day he surprised me by coming down to KL again by himself this time just to bring me out on a proper date. He had everything all figured out with a hired driver (there was no UBER / GRAB then) to even booking of the restaurant – Planning all the way from Aussie and not knowing KL well. It was impressive. And let’s just say the rest was history. We did long distance ever since till he decided to move to KL in August 2013.
