Traditional Chinese wedding – Keeping it authentic
Not many stories are told from a wedding day and definitely not many stories are told from a chinese wedding dress. Following our previous post, we had the privilege to witness yet another beautiful wedding ceremony of Kenneth and E Laine. We must say over the years of photographing a wedding, we have had our fair share of encounters with wedding gown. We get to see really beautiful wedding outfits which are made to measure and just looks stunning on the bride. This time was a little special as E Laine had the privilege to wear a chinese traditional ‘Qun Kua’- Chinese wedding dress that was worn by her mom which was handled to her by her mom. Sorry if that sounded a little confusing, but what we are saying that this gown has been handled over by generations to generations. When it comes to traditional gowns, not many people are actually making these gowns as authentic as how they were used to be made. The amount if details and design on the E Laine’s chinese wedding dress is simply next level. You can’t get it like this anymore, even if you could it would cost a lot to make. Trust us, we are also gown experts… just kidding!
But in all honestly this chinese dress is just not amazingly beautiful, it has a story and a beautiful story indeed. From preparation, gate crashing, tea ceremony and finally to wedding reception, it was a busy yet splendid day filled with abundance of laughter and tradition. What made it even more meaningful was the timeless traditional Chinese dress -Qun Kua that E Laine wore for the morning ceremony- it’s been passed down through two generations!
Ohh yes, and the bridal games was super hilarious as well ! Really appreciate that everyone was there to have an enjoyable time together. Let us also not forget the groom that was also in theme with the wedding. Nice touches of details with the Chinese fan, hat and that interesting cool looking shades too!
