Chindian wedding | Celebrating Jeevan & Shoniya

This is probably our first Chindian wedding and also our first wedding which was celebrated all in the comfort of the homes of the couple. Yes everything was done at home even the wedding rituals and prayers to the dinner banquet dinner. I think its so cool to be able to do a wedding at home! Home weddings will probably be something of the future where people are looking for something a little different and intimate. While it is not uncommon for western countries to have weddings to be held in backyards. In asian countries on the other hand, backyard weddings is really uncommon.

Anyway, we just absolutely love this cross culture wedding of Jeevan & Shoniya. Jeevan is a ‘Chindian’ (mixed Indian and Chinese ancestry) while Shoniya is of Indian heritage. Thus, the chindian wedding which is the mix and blend between cultures that makes this wedding a very unique one. We just love this home styled wedding with just relatives and close friends. It was indeed a unique wedding with beautiful ceremony held at the beautiful homes of the couple.

The day started with both the couple having the ceremony and prayers and both at the comfort of their respectful homes. There is something about home wedding ceremony that is more cozy and comfortable. Usually ceremony like these will be quite long and the rituals would get delayed but, not this time! Everyone was more relaxed and smiles were seen across the room.

The dinner banquet was also such a beautiful event, you really don’t have to invite and do a large gathering to have a fun and memorable wedding. Small intimate weddings such as this just reminds us that celebrating with the closest of your friends and families are even more meaningful. Ohh did we mentioned that we had fireworks that night? Just too amazing and we loved it!

None of these could have happened without the help of these awesome vendors that were there that day. Here are some of the vendors that is worth mentioning that day :-
