A wedding in Brunei

This was our very first time photographing a wedding in Brunei. Well actually it was also our first time setting foot in Brunei. It reminds us very much like Sabah for some reasons. Population is very small if you compare it with other countries like Singapore which is of similar size. There were a lot of things that are so familiar in this country. For instance the food, the language and also the people. Its a good feeling to be in a foreign country but at the same time feel so at home!

Anyway, we had some time explore the city just before the wedding. Visited some beautiful mosque and sampled some of the local food. We love to destination weddings as we get to see another part of the world, and we just love travelling!

So back to the couple Alex & Yvonne! Both of them run a very successful and hip cafe in Brunei called Flour & Butter . The cafe serves beautifully prepared gourmet meals and good coffee!  So much joy when the groom is a chef and we were never left without enjoying a good meal! Thanks so much for showing us around Brunei!

Here’s a short story of the couple and some photos of the beautiful wedding in Brunei!

Alex & I met in church, but we weren’t very close friends or talked much. We found interest when we talked about ‘Kolo Mee’, then slowly onto food & cakes. Because Alex is a pastry chef & a foodie, our conversations started from there and on. Then I started serving in the same ministry in church with Alex, under Pastor’s guidance we started our courtship from there.

                  We were together for 9 months then Alex proposed when we were attending a church conference in Penang.
